Melissa Landres Photography bio picture

welcome!

Thanks for stopping by! Do you want to know something about me? I am passionate about my [ photography ], I always have been...

When I was asked in high school: what do you want to be when you grow up? I always said a photographer. It all started with the photography and art classes in high school, I would shoot any and everything. Back then, we started our learning on a school issued 35mm film camera (do they even teach with those anymore? ☺). And after high school, I was "over-the-moon" when I got a part-time job with some local photographers, I was able to learn so much more about my art. But working or not, I would shoot every day, I was never without a camera! It was so very important to me that I documented the people that I loved and the many special moments in my life. I never wanted to forget those things...

Then, I got married and became a mother } On the day my first son was born, we took 354 photos in the hospital, 354!!!. It was insane. I remember thinking: thank goodness this is a digital camera! Because I didn't want to miss a thing! And it only gets worse as our little family grows, the shutter is always clicking. We have been blessed with three little cuties, two lively little boys and one sweet little girl. So my camera has now become an extension of my arm. And I am so lucky to be married to a super supportive husband who loves and appreciates photography just as much as I do.

Out of all of the material possessions I have, my photographs are the most valuable to me. In each image I've captured an expression, a laugh, a smile, a feeling, or a story. That moment has been forever frozen in time. And I would love to share that gift with you. So you too will never forget those things... ♥

much Aloha ♥ southern california wedding photographer

Jeff & Kelly’s Hawaiian wedding was beautiful. They were married in the morning at the San Diego temple and then we drove down to La Jolla cove for more photos. They are adorable together, the perfect match! Both Jeff and Kelly have such a great sense of humor, so we had a ton of fun taking pictures! But I think we also captured so many special little moments together as husband and wife. Enjoy ♥

These two were taken by Dolores (my mom and partner for the day)… she has an awsome eye for catching those tender moments! I love you……Aloha au iā ‘oe

Jeff & Kelly, we love you and wish you all the best together!

my brother’s wedding… | wedding photographer

1

Cory is my youngest brother, and the last one in our family to get married. Actually, both of my “little” brothers got married this year. Which is kinda funny, because my sister and I both had our weddings in the year 2000 (my poor parents!).

It was a beautiful evening for an outdoor wedding at my parents home. The decorations were in place, the candles were lit, and the guests were seated. We were all ”ready to go”…except for one thingwhere was the “bride to be”?

She was running a little late… (hee hee hee)

…so we snapped a few pics of ourselves! Here’s me and my sisters in our bridesmaid dresses, and the guest sign in book.

In the end, Cory & Tanya were married, and the rest of the wedding went on without a hitch. But since it was now so dark outside, we rescheduled thier bridal shots for the following day. Which turned out to be a great idea, because we had sooo much more relaxed time to capture some really special photographs! Cory & Tanya, you two really are so cute together ♥
